Collection: Gwindel

In a Gwindel the crystal appears to have grown "sideways", roughly parallel to its c-axis, and along an a-axis, to form a platy crystal like a Faden Quartz, however not flat, but slightly twisted and with bent crystal faces. The term "Gwindel" is derived from the German "gewunden", which means helicoidal, twisted.

The best Gwindels are from Switzerland. Truly fine, in some cases very large, Gwindels have been found only in a narrow belt of localities in the central Swiss Alps.

We have numerous pieces of stunning Gwindel in different physiognomy, sizes and weight. If none of the listed items corresponds to the size/physiognomy you require or does not align with your budget, please contact us - we love to help you finding your Gwindel!
